From simple totes to stunning clutches, handbags are, of course, an essential and can be quite expensive. Imagine that instead of having to buy them, you could create your own handbags to match an outfit, the time of year or just your mood! If you already have a little sewing experience and would like to explore some new and interesting techniques this course is a real treat.
This course will provide you with all you need to know to get started making your own handbags at home. During the day I will guide you through a number of simple and effective techniques you can use to design and create your own handbags. You will learn how to construct and insert linings, add interenal and external pockets, use zips and other fastenings and add handles and shoulder straps.
All materials and patterns will be provided but if you have any pieces of fabric or trim you especially wish to use bring them along and I will happily help you incorporate them.
Sessions are kept to a maximum of 6 people to ensure everyone can learn at their own pace. Groups and parties welcome see the Special Sessions page.
